About SFWorth

SFWorth is a free community project for San Francisco homeowners. Type in your address and you get an honest estimate of what your home is likely worth, built from the city’s public records and twelve months of recorded sales near you. No account, no listing, no sales calls.

We built it because the information is lopsided. Agents, investors, and lenders all have detailed data about your home and your block. Most owners don’t. Many people only hear a number for their own house when someone wants something from them. You should be able to see the same picture the professionals see, for free, any time you want.

Knowing your number makes ordinary decisions easier. Planning for retirement, helping a kid with a down payment, deciding whether to remodel or move, or simply staying put with confidence. The rules matter too. Many owners over 55 don’t know that Prop 19 lets them keep their current property-tax bill when they move within California, and most people overestimate what selling costs. We wrote plain-language guides for both.

Every report lists the nearby sales behind it, so you can check the estimate against what actually sold on your block. Public records tell us a home’s size and age, but not whether the kitchen was redone last year or in 1975. That’s why you get a range instead of a single number, and why answering a few questions about the inside narrows it. For a big decision, treat our report as a starting point and bring in a licensed appraiser.

SFWorth is run by San Franciscans, independently. We’re not a brokerage, we don’t run ads, and we never sell your information.
